During Friday 4 October lunchtime, over 70 members of U5 and L6 as well as a few parents and other guests were able to hear short presentations from 4 leading private American Universities about the opportunities offered by studying as an undergraduate in the United States. We were fortunate enough to use the new lecture hall at the top of Upper King Street.
Led by Shane McGuire from Vanderbilt University in Kentucky, we discovered not just more about the undergraduate experience but also how the application system differs from UCAS by focussing much more on what the prospective applicant to going to contribute holistically to the university.
There were opportunities at the end to ask questions and also to chat to each of the University Admissions Directors before returning to Friday afternoon classes in Norwich inspired about what the future might bring.
