Homestay and Guardianship

Norwich School is a day school, and so our international pupils are placed with our trusted and highly-experienced ‘homestay parents’, all of whom are rigorously interviewed and undergo vetting by the police. The welfare, happiness, safety and security of our international pupils are of paramount importance and we consult regularly with our homestay pupils to ensure that they are completely satisfied with the environments in which they lodge and study.

Our homestay scheme is managed by Gabbitas Education who also act as guardians to international pupils.

To find out more about how Norwich School works with Gabbitas to support our international pupils' homestay arrangements, please watch the short film found here

Fees collected by Gabbitas for homestay accommodation:

  • Homestay fee (2024-25): £9,520 per annum
  • Administration fee (2024-25): £3,600
  • Registration fee: £240

Fees are due and payable in full, both to both Norwich School and Gabbitas, before the commencement of the school term to which they relate and must have been received as cleared funds by that date. The fee bill will include an amount relating to the next term and may include charges arising from the previous term.

Queries regarding international tuition fees should be addressed to the Admissions Team at Norwich School.

Application Process

We will consider applicants put forward by agents and are also happy to receive direct approaches and applications. We seriously consider all quality applicants that show an interest in Norwich School.

We expect levels of English to be high: an IELTS score of 5.5 at 15.5 years old is a good marker. We test English proficiency through the Password English Test, which all candidates take. Applicants will also be asked to sit written papers in the subjects they are interested in taking at A Level to move through the application process. If candidates are successful at Password, the school's written papers and a face-to-face or Skype interview, they are put forward by the International Admissions Team for consideration by the Head and the Director of Studies.

We are happy to accept applicants throughout the school year and will indicate on our website when our international list is full.

New International Consultancies

"International pupils are welcomed in our community and do much to enrich it. Each brings something individual to the school and all serve to open our eyes and minds to the wider world, increasing our knowledge and respect for other cultures.

We have, I believe, a fully integrated community with academic and extra-curricular opportunities that prepare the individual to follow the path they choose when they leave us, whilst also establishing a lifelong connection with friends they have made".
