Drama and Theatre

"In the Drama and Theatre department we strive above all to craft excellent productions and to give actors and technicians alike a creative and engaging training in the basics of theatre. 

Pupils learn both in the classroom and in the extra-curricular setting, developing academic skills and techniques which they can then apply in performance.

Drama is an extremely popular activity throughout the school, with more than 400 pupils involved in production and performance during a typical year. The school has a purpose-built theatre and plenary space but also uses professional venues in the city including Norwich Theatre Royal, The Playhouse, The Maddermarket, Norwich Puppet Theatre, The Garage and Epic Film Studios. Access to the professional world of theatre allows the pupils to gain insight into both technical and on-stage experiences, preparing them for life beyond the classroom."
