The NCS is run by alumni of Cambridge University who organise a programme of lectures delivered by quality speakers, mostly with internationally-recognised specialists in their fields of study and meticulously picked for their skill in conveying complex subject matter in an accessible and engaging manner. Varied topics of great importance are chosen covering all aspects of human existence with subject matter as wide-ranging as democracy, Russia, the British constitution, the Large Hadron Collider and genocide!
Lectures take place quarterly, comprising a 45-minute lecture followed by a lively Q&A session, before guests head to the School’s Refectory for informal discussion over a drink and to allow the audience to meet the speaker. Attendance is open to all, pupils from schools throughout Norfolk are encouraged to attend. The ticket price of £15 is discounted for those booking early and for those still in education.
