The Norwich School annual Christmas Card competition was a brilliant success school-wide!
It was a bumper year for the competition with a record number of entries from LS and SS. Pupils explored a variety of artistic mediums from pencils, to paint, to graphic design and sparkly glitter creations! This year there seemed to be a similar theme from both Lower School and Senior School alike and that was the infamous beloved Cathedral cat, Budge! Various pupils incorporated the Cathedral in their designs, which celebrates the beautiful surroundings of the Close.
This year's winner for the Senior School was Upper 6 pupil, Imogen Fear, with her beautifully detailed design of Norwich Cathedral on a snowy evening. Imogen's design is full of Christmas spirit, with the star gleaming from the top of the spire and the multi-coloured lights shining through the the stained glass windows. Highly commended cards were awarded to Lower 4 Pupil, Harry Putnam and Juwairiah Ahmed in Middle 5. Both Harry and Juwairiah also took inspiration from the Cathedral, with a highlight of Harry's card being the Peregrine Falcon carrying Christmas lights, and Juwairiah's depicting a frosty Christmassy day!
The winner for the Lower School was Ethan Liao in Upper 3 who wonderfully incorporated the Lower School building works in his festive scene, decorating the crane with seasonal ornaments and having it place a bow on the Lower School building, an incredibly creative design. Runners up were Leo Candeggi in Upper 2 and Iris Bian in L1, whose pieces centred around Norwich Cathedral. Iris's piece was full of cheer, with an enormous Christmas tree beside the cathedral, and Leo's skilled detail brings the piece to life!
Congratulations to all who took part; we can't wait to see what pupils come up with next year!
