On Thursday 21 November, the Lower School dancers had an amazing opportunity to take part in a fantastic workshop led by the talented Pippa from Northern Ballet. The workshop was all about performance, with a focus on enhancing our ballet technique and skills.
The pupils had the chance to immerse themselves in choreography from the enchanting show, A Christmas Carol. It was thrilling to explore the different movement dynamics that bring the story to life, especially as the children embodied the roles of the Ghosts of Christmas Past and the jubilant guests at the ball. We even delved into discussions about the fabulous costumes worn in the performance, which really helped them understand characterisation in dance!
Pippa made sure everyone felt included and encouraged, allowing the children to ask her plenty of questions throughout the session. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and laughter, and the students left feeling inspired and more connected to the art of ballet. It was truly a memorable experience that will resonate with our young dancers for years to come!
