On Thursday 17 January the L6 art scholars along with some other passionate designers went to Warner Bros studio in Watford to experience first hand how a design brief and words on a page can formulate into a cohesive brand.
We were greeted by Mr seaman at 6:15 with our Hogwarts express tickets, which we needed in order to embark on Norwich schools very own Hogwarts express which took the form of the school minibus.
On arrival at Warner Bros studio it was quickly apparent the enormous scale of the production and design teams. When you experience the set and props first hand you notice so many more details from the graphic design on the potions books to the embellishment on the wands. It was really interesting to the different filming techniques they used to create a magical world like the perspective warping sets and cgi. Personally, my favourite part of the tour was seeing the beautiful sketches done by artist then seeing these turn in models and then the actual props or costumes in the movies.
