Narman Puvanachandra had practised as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in Norfolk since 2009 with particular expertise in paediatric and cataract surgery. He also is Head of School for Ophthalmology for East of England, Associate Professor and Associate Post Graduate Dean. He qualified from Gonville and Caius College Cambridge in 2000 and also trained in Hampshire and Vancouver. He has worked on projects in Sudan, Kenya and rural China whilst also sitting on the Royal College of Ophthalmology training committee. In addition he is a Director and Partner at Newmedica Norwich - providing NHS ophthalmology care for thousands of Norfolk patients every year. 

Narman is married with three children (two of whom attended Norwich school) and enjoys weekly five a side football, cricket, tennis and running.
