Hi, I’m Dan White and I am Captain of Boats for Norwich School’s rowing squad.

I’m an engineering student studying maths, physics and 3D design with the aim of becoming an aeronautical engineer or even a pilot!

I have been at Norwich School since Lower 3, so 9 years in all, and I have been rowing for 6 of those! Rowing is a hugely demanding sport but the most rewarding in my opinion, though training does take up a large amount of time for my extracurriculars. That being said, I am also a Young Leader at Scouts, helping to run power boating and sailing sessions alongside weekly troop meetings. I have also taken part in a number of team engineering projects that have run through the year – so there is time to fit everything in.

For me, rowing is the ultimate sport combining teamwork with individual power and endurance, alongside the technical abilities needed to make the boat move faster! The feeling of putting everything into a close race and finishing just ahead of the competition is one that I will never forget!
