Amnesty Group

This thriving school society meets weekly to discuss current international and national affairs. We support non-violent prisoners of conscience throughout the world by writing letters of support to them.

We also write to their governments to ask for clemency. We raise awareness of injustice through assemblies and campaigns. We rejoiced when Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was finally released after 6 years of confinement. We work alongside the school’s refugee support group, raising money for various projects via termly fairs, donation days and the iconic Amnesty Variety Evening, which showcases the dancing, singing and musical talent of the school and the local community.

Highlights from the last academic year included the ever-popular Sponge the Teacher stall and a dance troop comprising of Norwich School pupils and local refugee children.

We are proud to be providing financial assistance to the amazing Nandana Werapitiya Arts Centre in Sri Lanka.
