On Monday 3 February, Lower 2 travelled back to Ancient Egypt for a day of discovery and adventure. The pupils dressed up as Pharaohs, explorers and even mummys! Below are some comments from pupils about the day!
"I went as an Egyptologist to school because we have Ancient Egypt Day. All my friends dressed up and we were talking about each others’ costumes." - Harrison
"A person called Mark came to talk about Ancient Egyptians. We talked about how some Egyptians died and how Tutankhamun died and why. There were 139 walking sticks in his tomb. We acted out a scene of what might have happened to the King. I was asked to wrap him in bandages with George." - Dhilan
"We learnt how to take the organs out of the pharaoh’s body. Some were thrown away and some were kept safe in containers and put in the coffin. After afternoon break, we spent the rest of the day hunting (pharoroahs love hunting). It was a game and it was Jackals v Hounds. I was a hound and the hounds won 24-25". - Joshua
"The phaoraohs got mummified (wrapped in bandages and cloth) then sent to the afterlife if the heart was light as a feather. If not, they could not live with the gods." - Harry
"It took about twenty years to build a pyramid" - Keira
"At the end we heard a story of Rhodopis. She got very pretty dancing shoes. She put them to dry but then a big bird took them to the Pharaos. She married the Pharaoh." - Hope
